We are a non-profit organization called KidsCare Foundation, Inc. We are formed by a group of Carmel middle school and high school students working toward raising funds to help people in need.
We play different musical string instruments and have formed our unique quartet only with two cellos instead of one (who doesn’t like more cello).
Our orchestra rehearses weekly to put on live concerts to collect funds so we can help children in Tibet with congenital heart disease undergo life saving heart surgeries.
We have raised over $10,000 and have purchased and donated over 400 medical grade N95 masks.

Nathan Yu - President
Nathan is currently a senior in 12th grade and has been part of KidsCare since 8th grade. Over the years, he has remained dedicated to helping others and creating a lasting, positive impact in his community. His long-term involvement reflects a deep commitment to service and a desire to be a part of something meaningful. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing the saxophone and relaxing with video games.
Emma Xiao - Vice President
Emma Xiao is in twelfth grade. She co-founded KidsCare when she learned about the prevalence of congenital heart disease in Tibet. Her role as president in KidsCare is mainly raising money and leading the discussions during Zoom meetings. She loves cats and when at home, she is often seen playing with her pets. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and taking photos of the world around her.
Shawn Feng
Shawn is currently enrolled in 7th grade. He joined KidsCare to make a difference after hearing about the wonderful things they do from a friend. He is eager to help kids with congenital heart disease as well as others in need. Shawn can usually be found online where he’ll be doing homework or socializing with friends. One of Shawn’s favorite things to do outside of school is play tennis. He has taken part in many of KidsCare's intiatives and is responsible for updating the website. He has also collaborated with other members to brainstorm new ways to help KidsCare.
Yiling Li - Artistic Director
Yiling is currently in 12th grade. She joined KidsCare after learning about the impacts it has made for kids with congenital heart disease and others in need. Due to her passion for music, art, and helping others, she takes pride in being a member of KidsCare. Her roles in KidsCare include making creative product designs and playing violin tunes for fundraising. When she is not tending to her responsibilities from KidsCare and school, she enjoys feeding food sticks to Kevin, her pet turtle.
Grace Zheng
Grace Zheng is in 9th grade, and she joined KidsCare in 2019. She is a part of their (awesome) design team, and loves art and volunteering. You’ll often find her holed up in her room refusing to show people her face. Despite those antisocial tendencies, she also likes performing, and is excited about the impact that might be possible with this organization. She plays the cello in their concerts, but occasionally croaks out a few notes on the piano when away from public eye. Her hobbies include but are not limited to: drawing, painting, reading, writing, cooking, procrastination and exacting vengeful acts of wrath against her brother.
